Young girls and women roaming in Connaught Place on Saturday evening received a surprise when volunteers offered to wash their feets. As part of The move called “I Respect Women” campaign, youths went to city streets and marketplaces, with buckets, water and cloth to share the message of the campaign by washing the feet of women and girls in the city streets.
“It was well received and witnessed attendance by close to 100-150 bystanders. Almost 30 women and young girls from housewives to college goers to young working professionals came to have their feet washed after hearing the message of the I Respect Women campaign,” said a member of LiveJam Foundation, which was started in 2005 with the intent to contribute to society through its educational, social and media initiatives among urban youth.
